Week 5
I am embarrassed to admit that this week, once again,
I do not have related art to add to the current blog. Will try to add one later on when I get few hours of free time. I will probably update this post tomorrow and add a picture.
Tomorrow, starts a global month long event called Inktober. Inktober is an event created by Jake Parker, who I actually followed for a long time until I found out he was the creator of it. It's name comes from two words Ink and October since it is held during October. The idea of Inktober is to make artist draw at least one finished piece, every day. Rule usually is to use inks and traditional media because it gives creators a challenge where they can not ctrl+z or erase their mistakes which is a lot easier on digital medium. But even if this rule is around the main point is to just draw and create every day, be it digital or not, and at the end of the month you can pat yourself on the back.

But that is not all! You aren't left to your own devices if you can't think of anything to draw there is the official Inktober list of prompts for each day. And if you don't like this particular list of prompts other creators have made their own lists which you can follow instead of the official one.

Here is few of my personal favorite lists I picked from Instagram.
I have participated in Inktober before but never finished it, well technically I did and technically I didn't. You see, I did 3 Inktober prompts at the same time and I got to day 7 or 8, that times 3 is 21 or 24 drawings but I do not count it as proper Inktober cause I didn't truly draw every day of October. I don't really have a lot to say on Inktober other than that I find it a great way to inspire artists to motivate themselves to draw. It is great especially for younger artist who really need that extra push to just keep going and draw draw draw! You won't improve if you don't draw!

I didn't know what was Inktober before! I think it's very interesting. I would like to try it but drawing it's not my thing...I love seeing draws so I would keep in touch with the movement and probably someday I will join it. The drawing could be digital or handmade?
ReplyDeleteMoreover I have to say that you need a lot of time to draw every day, a thing that I don't have. But that's a very interesting idea to improve my drawing skills. So, I hope to know more about this movement.
